Membership
The best way to make an impact is to join an organization bigger than yourself.
The Kiwanis Club of the Jersey Shore is actively looking for members to continue growing our organization. Anyone 18 or older can join! Were you a former Key Clubber, Circle K-er, Builder’s Club, or K-Kids member? Good news, your Kiwanis Family journey doesn’t have to stop there - we have several past members of these Kiwanis Family programs as members of our club today.
What are the benefits of joining Kiwanis?
Serving the community and making it a better place for kids and their families! This is the main reason we’re all here, and the more members we have, the bigger the impact we can make.
Make new friends and meaningful connections in your community. Have you been longing to get more involved in your local community and make more meaningful personal and professional connections? Kiwanis is a great way to network - plus we have a ton of fun at our meetings!
Develop your leadership skills. If you care about developing as a leader, Kiwanis has resources and programs designed to help you do just that. Through opportunities at the state level along with development programs like Amplify, Kiwanis wants you to feel valued and invested in.
Flexible Commitment for Members. We are all busy in life, but that doesn’t mean we can’t make time for the things we care about. If you miss a meeting we won’t begrudge you. We’re a give what you can kind of group and if that’s 2 hours a month or 20, you’re still a valuable member to us.
Frequently Asked Questions About Joining Kiwanis
-
Our club dues at the beginning of the year are $160. As we accept members throughout the year, we do prorate the dues so depending on when you join it might be less.
-
Your international and district dues are free for your first two years of Kiwanis membership, which is great! At the club level, we do ask for a small contribution to cover you for the entire year - $30 if you are age 25 or under, and $50 if you are age 26+.
-
Great question - dues are broken up between district (state), international, and club level expenses. At the international level your dues help cover minimal operating expenses, and primarily our event and liability insurance so everyone can be safe during Kiwanis events. At the state level dues cover minimal operating expenses as well - they also cover offsetting the cost for events like mid-year training and district convention. The bulk of expenses are pushed back into clubs for officer and membership training and development that happens throughout the year.
-
We do! Corporate memberships start at $112 for the year and allow an organization to send any one member at a time to meetings or events to represent them. It’s a great option if you are a business owner looking to strengthen your community presence and bonds!
